10mo ds has a mild fever and just wants to sleep. No other symptoms.

No cough, no cold, no pain seemingly, no pulling at ears. It's odd. About dinnertime yesterday I noticed he was a bit warm, but not excessively so. By bedtime he definitely had a fever but not a very high one. The fever's been there all night (around 38.5, 39 at its highest) but he's just very sleepy.

He got up this morning at 7.15am and while off his food a bit and slightly grumpy, was still able to raise a smile. He went back to sleep at 9.30am and has been mainly asleep since. He wakes for a bf now and then and will grin at me throughout but then goes straight back to sleep. Fever still there.

Eh? Is this some sort of strange virus? He's not quite himself when awake but is just grumpy as opposed to 'ill', I have no concerns about rousability or lethargy or anything. He's just asleep and hot.

He IS getting his top front teeth atm but that doesn't cause a fever and fatigue surely?

Any ideas?

DS had this a few weeks ago (aged about 8.5months I think).

He had a temperature for 48 hours and apart from being not very active and being quite clingy (eg. at night he didn't cry as long as I was lying next to him) there didn't seem to be anything wrong.

As I said, it lasted 48 hours and then he was back to his normal hyperactive self. I put it down to all the temperature changes.

Hope he feels better soon.

It's blooming weird here. Thunder flies everywhere, blue skies one minute, heavy clouds and black ominous atmosphere the next. It's made me feel a bit spaced out.

He's just a bit, well, pathetic tbh. He woke up for the school run, refused to look at anybody or interact with the lovely old ladies on the bus, clung to my shoulder a bit, has come home and cuddled his sister and the cat and has gone back to sleep. Temp is still around 38.5
