Sleepwalking

My 8 year old is sleepwalking. It's freaking him out as he sometimes wakes up and can't understand why he's out of bed. He is worried to go to sleep. I'm permemtly knavkered as I spend all night half awake listening out for him. Any ideas anyone? Why is he doing it?

I would see the GP. It's a sign of stress usually but there is help. My DH sleepwalks and I know how stressful it is.

Daddy has gone away with work and he doesn't like it. Do you think it could be as simple as this?

Yes! Definitely....does he skype with him regularly? When my DH worked abroad, we skyped sometimes twice a day and would stick the laptop n the table whilst we ate so Daddy could "be there".

It is hard on them even hough at 8 they know Daddy will come back intelectually....they still miss them.

my ds sleepwalks too and i know what you mean about listening out for them. ive put a small old wind chime on his door handle, maybe you could try that?or a bell of somekind.
ive noticed ds does it when hes very overtired so we stick to routine as much as possible.
