This is chickenpox isn't it?

Dd2 (6) has been very feverish and tired today but has eaten a few bits. I just put her up to bed and noticed one single tiny blister on her shoulder. I touched it and it burst (and I washed my hands!). She has another on her back and the makings of one on her cheek but that's it.

When dd1 had it (about 7 years ago) she was covered, and it was a rash before it turned to blisters. It's not itchy either.

The pox?

Yeap sounds like it, hopefully she'll not get them too bad or they won't bother, but I have seen alot more products in the shops now since my dcs had them

Thanks. I used aloe Vera gel on dd1's itchy bits last time; it was fab stuff. This looks like it might be a mild dose but I guess she's still going to have to miss the last week of term?

Stock up on Piriton! Also salt baths are really helpful to get the spots to dry out and clear up. Good luck!

Ta.
Do you think if she was going to be riddled all over it'd have happened by now? Is this all we can expect? (hope so)

My dc kept getting a few more a day for about four days (sorry) Sad
Does sound like it. Some clever folk on here told me about aqueous calamine, fantastic stuff. And a sock of oats in the bath. What would we do without mn?!Wink

GummiberryJuice · 15/07/2012 20:31

As Mrs Shrek3 said my dd2 went from 1 one day by day 3 I honestly have never seen a child with so many, and I thought ds had them bad when we stopped counting at 130+, calamine cream was my saviour!

eastendywendy · 15/07/2012 20:36

Day 1 and 2 ds had 2 spots. Day 3 - 7 he probably had about 600+.

Dd on the other hand got them all out really quickly and got it over and done with very quickly!

Neither were especially ill, just a bit hot and itchy.

Try Bicarbonate of Soda in the bath. It sorts itself out fairly quickly.
