Newborn with a tooth - any experiences?

DS was born with a tooth in his bottom gum. It's firm and doesn't seem to cause him any issues.

I've now had three different opinions on The Tooth, and was just wondering if anyone had any experience to share?

  1. It's a natal tooth - ie from a random third layer, which will fall out before his milk teeth come through.
  1. It's a milk tooth and will fall out when his surrounding milk teeth appear, leaving him with a gap.
  1. It's a milk tooth and is just early, the rest will come through when they're ready.

I'm not worried at all, and I know I need to keep an eye in it in case it goes wobbly and there's a risk of aspiration, but I am intrigued and would value the wisdom of mumsnet!

my brother was born with teeth - the rest of his milk teeth came later. he didn't have a gap, just lost thse teeth at the normal time when adult teeth came through.
