Dd 2 has been to the dr this afternoon as she has been running a high temp since sunday night. No cough cold etc. Dr examined her and her knees were very red and one was very hot so the doctor diagnosed a skin infection which I think she said was cellulitis? She has been prescribed antibiotics which she had a dose of and some calpol and her knees are no longer red or hot! Does this happen with cellulitis, does it come and go or has she been misdiagnosed?

my ds had cellulitis just before 2 but severe, antibiotics do generally take the red away, 3 days on IV and the bulk of the redness had gone, hes had it milder but hes always had a boil/abscess as a site of infection. the heat from the skin though is vey like cellulitis you didnt have to touch ds to feel the heat from his

I think if it was cellulitis you would really know about it, it is very red and painful and would not go away with a dose of antibiotics. My son had orbital cellulitis earlier in the year, started on normal antibiotics, they then gave him an adult dose and finally the next day admitted him for iv antibiotics.

I hope your dd feels better soon.
