Omeprazole for silent reflux

Dd2 has been on this for five days now and the effect on her silent reglux has been immense. She is fussy around feedings not hysterical and for half an hour not three. The pain seems greatly relieved.

I am also trialling dairy free but an only two days in.

However although she was never a good sleeper since bring in omeprazole she has been terrible! In total in 24 hours she must be sleeping about ten-eleven hours. About 2-3 in day time. It seems the drug has given her awful, awful wind that she can't shift easily.

Anyone else experienced this? Do I need to try traditional wind remedies? Gripe water did not go well or go I need to try lansoperazole ?

My dd was slightly older at around 6 months when we were prescribed Omeprazole for reflux and it didn't agree with her at all. She was very grumpy and agitated with wind and could not settle at all. After a few days of this we went back to the consultant who changed her medication to Ranitidine which was so much better. May be worth going back to have a chat with the doctor.

Good luck

Ask to try Lansoprazole.

Hi.
Omperezole has been our wonder drug.
Ds is 2 in sept
Silent reflux (mainly) food aversion and peg feeding tube fed.
That's how bad his aversion got.
He stopped eating.
I would defo go back to gp. Meanwhile try infacol too.

We had ranitidine and ds was horrendous on it. He just screamed!
