Head Lice?

My 16 month old has developed a very itchy scalp. It looks red and blotchy, and she's been scratching like mad. It seemed to flare up after her bath this evening. Could it be head lice? Or any other ideas?

Might be an allergy or eczema, any change of shampoo/bubble bath/suncream/wash powder?

Re lice, she has to catch them first. Has she been near other children? If you look at her hair closely in good light, or fine comb it, you will see the buggers lice walking around and their little black-dot eggs.

check with conditioner and a nit comb and you will know for sure

thanks, we'll nit-comb her tomorrow and see. Do I just stick some conditioner on her hair and run the comb through it? She's at nursery, so plenty of opportunity to catch them from other kids (now feeling kind of itchy myself...)
