Private paed gastroenterologist recommendations, London

Sick of waiting for a referral for a gastroscopy for DD1 to see if she has coeliac disease despite negative blood test. I am coeliac plus she has a number of relevant symptoms and our immunologist (for something else) at GOSH has agreed to a referral but it's taking too long on the NHS. She's miserable and I want it done asap.

Any recommendations for private paed gastroenterologists in London, ideally working in Central/North?

TIA

The Portland has a couple of paediatric gastroenterologists - Dr Muftah Eltumi and Dr Mike Thompson.

I'd give the gastroenterology dept. at GOSH a call and see if any of the consultants there do private work.

De Neil Shah at Great Ormond St. There is a private wing there

Defently see DR Shah he is one of the best he will see you privately and the referer you back on to the waiting list. I think the private fee is about £300 plus any tests they do. But if you are self funding they will keep the costs down. Pm me if you need to know any thing else. I am waiting for ds to have gastroscopy done by Dr Shah

Thanks for the recommendations. Next stop, GP for referral (although it could take 2 weeks to get an appointment there - madness).

Mike Thomson at the Portland is good although is not in London all week so appointment days can be limited. Hope things look up for your DS

Sorry, DD not DS
