Think DS is constipated

How can I help him? DS (13 months) has had a viral thing the last couple of days, not eating, just drinking milk, some water, but I think he's constipated as he hadn't had a bad nappy since Tuesday morning. I've heard him in his cot this morning grunting and crying so I think he's trying to go but can't.

Bearing in mind his lack of eating, what can I give him to help him? Thanks

Would he eat a fruit puree pouch? Both my kids love them.

Thanks for that. I've managed to get an Ella's Kitchen fruit pouch in and some water. Here's hoping .... Sad

Try some prune juice or oj. Go to gp though if he's still not gone today. Don't leave it. I never would've believed what a few pooless days would lead to til we had to deal with it.

He did do some earlier after a lot of concentrating and straining but it was all very dry and hard, not surprising I guess as he's been almost nil by mouth the last couple of days (bar milk), so I want to try and help him get hydrated again, poor little man.

Will keep an eye on it.

If he doesn't want to drink try an ice lolly? Or even just some crushed ice. The novelty might be enough to distract him.

Give him a warm bath and massage his tummy in a clockwise direction :)

My DD was constipated for 5 days :( i tried califig (which normally works, so give that a go) in the end had to take her to docs who prescribed sennekot and lactulose
