DD had a mark on her arm, I thought it was a scab, slightly swollen looking. She told me she had been poking her freckle (she doesn't like it) with the pointy end of her pencil at school. I don't think it broke the skin but it looks a bit red and swollen.

I put a plaster on it to stop her picking at it - its a completely flat freckle not a mole, but am a tiny bit concerned about risk from poking around with freckles. Anyone know whether I should worry or not?

Hi there, I remember doing this myself when I was bored one day in school. I remember mine ended up a bit raised and my mum was concerned that i got a bit of lead under the skin. From memory she just washed it with dettol or something similar. It went back to normal looking after a week or so :) Just keep an eye on it

Had to jump on this thread as I did this when I was a kid too- I am covered in freckles.

So long as she wasn't poking it because it was itchy or painful then I'm sure its fine.

Like mummabear said just keep an eye on it.
