Chicken pox - can we go to a party?

Obviously not with actual blistery chicken pox but DS, who is 2, came out in spots on Tuesday and, as far as I can see, they are all now crusted over. Some didn't turn into blisters at all but were just little pinky spots. All the children have been invited to a birthday party this afternoon. Is it safe to take DS or will he still be horribly contagious? I've had him stripped off to check for blisters and can't see any. Any advice?

If they've all crusted over here probably fine but I would check with whoever is running the party. They might not want to risk exposing other kids/adults to it even if it is a small one.

He is probably ok - just at the very end of the contagious period - but I agree with bumbley I wouldn't want to expose other kids/adults if there was a chance- My daughter just got over chicken pox and while her infector - my grandson -(we didn't know he had it til it was too late!) had it mild she was quite poorly with high temps and general malaise. I wouldn't want to knowingly risk passing it on.
