What is this rash?

DS (12 weeks) has had this rash appear on his face and head a few days ago, he's been scratching it - he managed to make it bleed - and he doesn't like us touching it.

We've tried putting E45 on it, but it doesn't appear to be making a difference.

He's due to see the doctor on Tuesday, but is there anything we can do in the meantime to help him?

Looks like excema to me. Keep with the e45 and use scratch mitts. Dr might prescribe a steroid cream.

Bless him it looks like excema to me too.

We couldn't get the scratch mitts to stay on, so we've resorted to using his socks on his hands instead - it's so cute! We'll keep using the E45 then :)

It does look like eczema, but I think I would take him to the GP... he may need some topical steroids on it. Avoid anything with Lanolin in, use unperfumed soaps etc (even the 'mild' baby washes can contain a million chemicals...). I would recommend Aveeno cream over all else for relief of itching etc. It is oatmeal based so very gentle.

Poor poppet. It does look like an eczematous rash. E45 is the best thing to put on until you see a doc. It won't make it go away immediately but will help keep the skin hydrated which helps with healing and alleviates the itchiness.

Scratch mits or socks on his hands to stop scratching and infection. Keep it clean. Don't use soap near his face. Doctor can prob give you hydrocortisone or steroid cream when you see them.

If it turns yellow and weeping, see dr earlier.
