It started happening more regularly about a week or so ago at night and he was waking up crying. Now it's happening some times during the day too. Any ideas?

My ds2 complained of sore feet, legs and knees - preschool noticed his feet were flat. GP said no they were fine without even taking his shoes off! I asked for referal anyway to podiatrist - yep feet were flat. As soon as he got used to his insoles the pain went away.

So maybe your ds has flat feet? Ask for a couple of opinions. HV, GP, other mums, nursery workers. Some people are good at spotting it and others aren't (I'm in the not category and still wouldn't be able to tell what I was looking for even now).
