Ugh, 2yo DD2 has threadworms

I found them wriggling after she pooed in her potty this evening. Gross. Think she picked them up at pre school as one of the staff had them a few weeks ago (presumably caught from a child).

Weirdly, she hasn't been itching or uncomfortable and I don't think they've been there long as she tends to poo in the potty so I can see what's, er, coming out.

Anyway, did a mad dash to pharmacy and got family pack of Ovex, then came home and cleaned for an hour and a half and stuck all bedding/towels in wash, changed PJs etc...

Will re-dose with Ovex in a fortnight (even though it doesn't say that you have to) and hope that this is the end of it.

6yo DD1 is totally freaked out by the idea of it. Won't go near DD2 and is washing her hands like a maniac!

Hi

Horrid isn't it? Less stressful the next time Wink

We found the meds did the job, was quite hard to keep things clean etc but no-one was particulary affected but then I can understand why a 6yo may find it a bit freaky!

Good Luck!

We have just had them for a second time. Dcs are older, so manage the toilet stuff themselves, so I didn't actually see them, but a couple of bad nights of itching is not good.

Mind you, I read somewhere that 40% of primary school children have them at any one time!

I read that too sittinginthesun!

We've been washing hands religiously all weekend, washing bottoms in the morning etc....

When DD2 pooed yesterday there were still a couple of the beggars in there but they were very lacklustre, barely moving. Hopefully they're on their way out!
