Is flaxseed safe for young boys?

I've seen so many conflicting sources.

Basically, I want the whole family to have daily supplements of both DHA and EPA. As veggies, we can have algae oils for DHA but I can only find flaxseed as an affordable source of EPA.

DS - age 13 months - would get the flaxseed through my breastmilk as well as his own children's vitamin and omega liquid.

I want to be sure that the supplements have a positive impact, however some reports have suggested that flaxseed may not be safe for infant boys due to it raising estrogen levels.

Has anyone come across any 'definitive' research in this area?

Haven't heard of this research but I give my DS 21 mths flaxseed oil (not capsules) so would also like to hear if anyone knows.
