Slap cheek or sun burn? I can't tell!

DD got red puffy cheeks at the weekend and felt unwell. I thought she'd had too much sun and she stayed home Monday. The red didnt go of course but she seemed ok the next day so I covered her in sun tan lotion and sent her back to school. Now her cheeks have calmed down a little but her arms and legs look red but in a spotty blotchy way. It would be textbook slap cheek except its only the bits exposed to the sun that are blotchy, so it must be sun related...? Or would sun aggravate a slap cheek rash?? Confused now but feel I should err on the side of caution. Shall I go fetch her from school?

Hmmm if she's ok in herself why can't she be at school? Are you meant to keep them in?

I'd perhaps call the school and ask their policy on slapped cheek and warn them re risks to pregnancy etc.

Sounds like slapped cheek to me. I thought it was sun burn at first.

I think you're meant to keep them off with slapped cheek while they're still in bloom. I didn't though because I thought it was sunburn Blush and the doctor thought it was an allergy. It was only when dd2 came out in it, that it was diagnosed. Oops.

Same here DeWe. DD is an allergic type so I had though that too. Flipping doctor is full so cant get a diagnosis and dont really want her home unless I have to.
