Have name changed to protect my DDs privacy but post often under a different name.
I am worried and hoping some mums of girls may be able to reassure me or make me feel less scared about all this.
DD aged 13 had a routine USS for a bladder problem today. The bladder problem was pretty much fised 9 years ago but she is scanned annually just to keep an eye on it. She is now fine and has zero problems in that area.
However the radiographer picked up some build up in the bottom of Uterus and thinks it may be caused by a Nabothian cyst. They cannot tell for sure because of where DD is in the menstrual cycle.
They want her scanned about 7 days after her period starts. The problem being she has only been having periods for a year and they are very irregular - down to her age I guess. So its a waiting game for her period to turn up before we can do anything else now.
The hospital reassured me its nothing serious but I stupidly googled and true to Googles form - there is a cancer scare in there - apparently it looks the same on scans. I am trying m y best to be rational but my mind is doing overtime not just about the possible future implications but also what will happen if it is blocking her cervix and she needs investigations, internals etc.
I am no prude but my poor DD will be mortified. Who would want their 13yo DD to go through stuff like that. She is being seen at a Childrens Hospital but I cant imagine there are many childrens gynaecologists??
.
Has anyone here had a Nabothian Cyst and can tell me how its affected you and what treatment you have had as I am now too scared to carry on reading google results. Better still, has anyone been through similar with a teen daughter and just tell me how the hospital handles cases and the examinations in children/young teens.
