Splinter removal

Ds (5) got a splinter in his finger on Sunday by running his hand along a wooden fence. He's got an extremely low pain threshold & if I even attempt removal by tweezers he will scream the house down. Should I leave it & let it work it's way out or will it become infected? Is there anything I can do to gently ease it along it's way?

get some magnesium sulfate from chemist its a cream , very cheap and will draw the splinter out . cream then plaster bobs your uncle.

Or if you have a minor injury unit near you they will take it out with the use of Emla cream.

Thanks for that. I was hoping there was something along those lines. I love rooting a good splinter out so a bit gutted he won't let me near it!
