How do I choose which hospital?

DS has been referred to a specialist and we have been given four hospital choices. How do we choose which hospital to go to? The closest woud be th eobvious but what if that's not the best?

Sorry to hear that your DS needs treatment. Is it for a routine operation or something more unusual?

I think there is a website called Dr Foster wher you can evaluate hospitals.

Can you speak to people who have been treated there before?

What are the waits like?

If you don't mind giving away your area some on here may have experience of the hospitals/departments involved.

I'd ask the gp where they would take their child.

Thanks guys for the swift responses. He is being referred because of motor skills issues and pains when doing every days tasks such as holding cutlery, writing etc.

We've been offered Chase Farm, Barnet, Homerton, North Midd and Potters Bar (I didn't even know Potters Bar had a hospital!)

If it was some like gromits I would just choose the nearest but under these circumstances I think that asking your GP which one they would take their child to is a very good suggestion.
