Strong smelling morning nappies

Dd is 23 months and over the last few days her nappies have smelt very very strongly in the morning of urine to the point that I have to change her sleeping bag and bedding. She is well in herself and no fever. Is this common for toddlers or does it sound like a uti?

This happened to my daughter when she was about 18 months old. I could smell the urine in her nappies before I even entered her room in the morning, they were so strong. Although after a few days she did have a fever as well. I went to the doctor and he sent me home with something to get a urine sample from her, it was like a bag that sat inside the nappy (very fiddly!). I dropped it back into the GP office and he phoned me back to say that she had a bladder infection so she was prescribed antibiotics. She did get another bladder infection a few months later but didnt have a fever with that and I found that making her drink lots and lots of fluids sorted it out. I also stopped using bubble bath in her bath as I was convinced that is what started it each time, although I cant be sure of that! She is now 3 and hasnt had any more since then. Hope you get it sorted.
