Sorry second thread started re chickenpox I am boring myself as well as everyone else I promise Grin

After 10 days of the waiting game DD finally came out in the spots Sun, by yesterday she was covered on her back, front and face.
We are due to fly on a much needed hol next Tues morning Sad .
When I say its much needed it really is. DD broke her leg a couple of months ago, she's just getting over that. We had to have her b'day party cancelled due to broken leg (you cant go kart the same with a leg in plaster) which she was devastated about and to break it to her that we're not going away is making me feel ill.
I know she cant fly until the spots are crusted and Easyjets policy is very clear ( 7 days after last spots appear) So I know we're cutting it v fine but any experience on how long the spots will take to 'crust' over? Some of her early spots are starting too. she's not itching though...yet! Had conflicting advice and am limbo here as to what to do.

my grandson 1st spot appeared friday 25th May no new spots from tuesday 29th and all crusted by Wed 30th. All info I've seen says no longer infectious 5 - 7 days after 1st spot. We used something called virosoothe which seemed to help. Fingers crossed her face is not too bad when you get to the airport

rufusnine oh no poor her Sad my dd is very grumpy too I feel your pain!
Mrspricklepants Hello! sorry to hear your dd has it too Hope your ok to go on your hol. We fly next Tues all her spots 'seem' to be blistering over so fingers and toes crossed we'll be ok. Off to see gp this pm to see about a fit to fly certifictae.
We have found bicar soda baths / oatmeal baths and calomine cream are doing the trick. Also Metanium! we put it on the spots that have blistered and they are healing pretty quick - I think someone on another thread mentioned it I was a bit skeptical but it seems to work. Not too bad with the itching...yet!
