Wanted some reassurance that this is what my dd (6yo) has got!!! Last wend she had bright red cheeks, scarlett infact and I thought at the time it was sunburn Blush she wasnt unwell in herself, maybe slightly more tired but nothing obvious.

Then a few days later she came out in this weird mottled rash which is worse on her arms and legs, looks very weird and not like any rash I have seen before!!! I took her to the Drs on Thursday who basically wasn't sure and mentioned possible allergic reaction or virus.

Does this sound like slap cheek??

TIA

slapped cheek

Just to say if it is slapped cheek and you have been in contact with anyone pregnant then it is important they know and check it out.

Sounds very like it, the body rash is described as lacy. Can come and go over 3 weeks. Think too it's not good for pg women

Seona1973 · 03/06/2012 13:36

p.s. once the rash is out they are no longer contagious

Thanks ladies, 'lacy' describes it perfectly so am even more sure thats what she has had! Don't think she has been near any pregnant ladies (unless they haven't told me Wink ) Her cheeks came up quite red again tonight and she has been a bit of a grump all day so am hoping she clears it soon as this is now week 2!!

Thanks again.
