Fever with chicken pox

NeeD some advice here. Ds is 5 and has come down with chicken pox over the weekend. Today he's developed a fever & while I can't tell how high it is (he broke the thermometer by messing with it) he feels hot to the touch but he's also covered in goosebumps. He keeps nodding off and when he woke up a few minutes ago really freaked me out by making no sense whatsoever. He told me I was "too big" and started talking about a noise he could here. He's dropped off again. Also the whites of his eyes were a light red. Been trying to keep getting fluids down him but he's not keen.

Any advice on what to do? At what point should I start getting really worried?

He's woke up again and he's making a bit more sense now. Think I'm freaked out cos some friends of ours had to take their daughter to the hospital last night as she had a fit. It's scary when they don't make any sense

Phone your surgery and ask to speak to a Dr. My two both had fevers with chicken pox this month, but were not delerious.

He's talking quite normally now. I think the gibberish came more from him being half asleep, he only woke up because the bank decided to ring about switching mortgage Angry. Just had a full lucid conversation. Fevers freak me out though and he hates nurofen & throws it up which doesn't help.
