gaping wound, should it be glued?

dd has cut the top of her toe at the park. she only had flipflops on & gashed her big toe.
its not massive but pretty deep, bled loads. but its on the joint/knuckle of the toe & everytime she walks it bleeds again.
It looks like a mouth talking as she bends her toe, which she thinks is funny.

Anyway is it likely to heal on its own or will it need a stitch or glue to pull it together?

If its big enough it can 'talk' I would be going to a minor injuries type unit to get it cleaned up and dressed

i think it needs looking at as i dont see how its going to nit together otherwise.
DH thinks its "just a cut"
our nearest hospital is 25 miles away so dont want o go unless sure its needed.
Bugger!
