In the hot weather what kind of bedding should kids this kind of age sleep under?

My 19mo has always slept in grobag style sleeping bags and I have this silly worry about quilts/bankets.

What do you use for your toddlers?

Ds always hated his grobag so we ditched them around a year ago. He also kicks off the duvet or blanket after an hour or two so we just go for lots of layers of pjs/vest/socks plus fleecy sleepsuit in winter.

Depends how hot it is with you, I would just go for light pjs and maybe a sheet or light cellular blanket. If you are worried just put it up to waist height but really at this age they can move around so much they should be fine.

DS is 2.5 and just sleeping in thin PJs and then with a small blanket over him (which he has every night as he loves it!)

Thank you, I don't know why I didn't think of a cellular blanket earlier, maybe because only ones I have are quite small ....I am a first time mother and I guess I just need someone to tell me what age it is safe to have them sleep under blankets that are not cellular?

Dd, 19mths, is in a 1tog sleeping bag. She moves round her cot so much at night, she'd never stay under sheets/blankets!

DD is 15months and has been in sleeping bags up until now. She's just been in PJ's the last few nights, with a cellular blanket in the cot.

We're going to take this opportunity to switch her to a quilt when it gets cooler again. Figure she's got used to being without her sleeping bag now.

Its regarded as safe by a year I think but the issue for a lot of people is kicking off the covers or chucking a blanket out of bed as away of getting a little nightime attention, which I think is why people stick with sleeping bags for as long as poss.

Thanks. I have a stupid paranoia about him being able to suffocate under blankets but obviously people use them a lot younger than 19months! I kept getting up last night and checking he wasn't too hot in his sleeping bag, even though its not very thick but then I would be worried about a blanket or quilt that wasn't cellular. This is just a bit of an anxiety of mine I think I need to get over.

My DD is 19 mo and it's far too hot for her sleeping bag. Today, her room is so boiling that she's just wearing a short sleeved vest and nothing else. If it gets cooler later, there's a thin duvet draped over the edge of her cot that I'll put over her. She's been under a thin duvet or cellular blanket for a week now and she's either stayed under it or I've seen her cuddling it. I think therefore your DS will be fine with a blanket.
