Dd has got heat rash it appeared as soon as it started getting warm, anyone got any ideas on how to get rid of it or help calm it down we have been putting her in loose clothing and given her extra baths but its still bright red and irritating her. Have also been applying eextra cream that we normally use for eczema which was advice from the hv.

The only thing I can think of is a luke warm oat bath

Put oats in a sock or similar, and swish that round in the water then squeeze the cloudy stuff out.

It always seemed to help with any irritation

My son had also come out in a rash this week, which we are putting down to being a heat rash? as he has been out in the garden all this week. Ive just been smothering him in cream and have given him a cool bath. His grandparents who look after him, have left him in either just a vest or nappy too to help. Not sure what else to do if it still persists? May try the oaks in a sock @NormaStanleyFletcher how long does it take for the rash to disappear?

I looked it up earlier today. I think it said that some creams make it worse and some help. I will look for a link. here this is the website our pharmacist recommends.

have you been using sun cream?

because DS3 kept getting what I tohught was a heat rash, and i finally twigged that it was actually a reaction to the suncream we were using!
we swapped to a natural one and he has been fine since. we noticed it last year, tried again this year and same thing happened

She had it before we put sun cream on her, came on sunday and we didnt go out though suncream has irritated it more. We alredy use a oatmeal soloution in the bath ao im sure that is helping. Can you get an aloe plan from anywhere ie supremarket or wilkos or would I need to go to a garden centre?

I used to get this as a child - calamine lotion always helped me, especially if straight from the fridge
