Strange white headed spots on 4 year old?????

Hi,

My almost 5 yr old has about 6 large angry looking spots on his back, groin, lip and knee. They are about the size of an adults fingernail and all have a white head on the top. A bit like an in growing hair.

Any ideas? I'm taking him to the dr's and not sending him to school in case it's contagious.

It's not chicken pox or hand foot and mouth.

do they look a bit like warts? Could be molluscum contagiosum which can linger for months and months
