My DD also 16 months seems to have the same, some nights nothing, then other nights she coughs on and off all night. It doesn't seem to wake her though? We've tried raising one end of the cot and have a plug in calpol thing. She's not bunged up, but both seem to be helping. Drs have listened to her chest and it's clear. They suggested it was a post virus cough and it will go, it's been at least 2 months since it started and it finally looks like it's going. Not sure that helps you though! Horrible to hear them coughing away!

A cough which is most persistent at night and doesnt come along with a cold / fever is often asthma. It might be worth getting her seen by your GP / Asthma nurse - they may be able to give you inhalers, even just for short term use to see if they help.

Yep, I was going to say possible asthma/allergies.

Best to go see the GP.

My ds, almost 9momths. Also has this problem. All the GPs tell me everytime I bring up asthma and about the strong family history. They just say they cannot diagnosed asthma until children are at least 2years old Angry
