Slapped cheek not worried but symptom check please

Ds age almost 2 has for last week been a bit under weather.
I know his symptoms include sore mouth he kept saying ouch with food, missed several meals, has streaming nose, cough, raised temp on and off. Bit grouchy.

Slapped cheek is doing the rounds at dd school and children at my childminder have had it.

Question is, do the cold symptoms precede the rash symptoms? He now has a bit of a rashy face but he has been drooling non stop (sore mouth) which always gives him a rash under the chin anyway.

So rash at same time as other symptoms or 2-5 days after ?

The typical rash you're looking for is more cheeks, although it can be chin as well, with a white (or normalish colour) round the lips.

However when dd1 had it the rash started on the top of her arms and I thought she had sunburn, and the GP thought it was probably an allergy. No symptoms prior to the rash. It then speread all over her body-and then dd2 got it with more typical symptoms which confirmed it was slapped cheek. Dd2 was a bit ratty for about 24 hours beforehand but not worse. Not really cold symptoms in either.

Dd1 looked dreadful, but wasn't really ill at all, dd2 was only rashed round the face but had a very high temperature and very miserable.
