Formula and cows milk combo causing sickness?

Hi, my 11 month old seemed to have a tummy bug a few days ago - was very sick in the night throwing up everything etc etc. She seemed much better in the morning so I gave her porridge w/ cows milk and then her usual bottle of formula. She threw all this up everywhere so for the next couple of days I cut out one milk feed (she normally has a formula one at about 1pm) and only gave her toast for meals - but gave her her usual bottle before bed. She didn't throw this up. For the next breakfast I gave only toast again but her usual bottle of formula. She didn't throw this up. But this morning, I went back to her porridge with cows milk followed by bottle of formula, and she promptly threw it all up. On a normal day she has porridge w/cows milk and her formula - so just wondering whether anyone may know why she is doing it? Many thanks in advance.

Hi, sorry to hear that my daughter went through the same sort of thing and after visiting the doctor we were referred to a child dietitian. It turned out to be milk intolerance so all milk products had to be replaced with formula such as Neocate (prescription only). However, it was trial and error as to what worked I initially tried SMA Lactose free but moved onto Neocate because she was intolerant to all milk and lactose is only the milk sugars. You can also try Soya based formulas. Its probably best to see your doctor and see if they will refer you to a dietitian that might help you. She has now grown out of that phase luckily, which is quite common. Hope that helps and good luck.
