Post viral infection?

My DS4 has for the last 5 days (since Tuesday) had a high temp with blotchy rashes that appear randomly around his body (now its on his arms, legs). He also complains of achy joints. The blotches fade to a bruise like appearance. They blanch on touch.

We brought him to a gp in Devon (we were on holiday) who said it was a post viral infection (he had chicken pox in Easter Monday). 4 hrs later he came down with joint aches and high temp. Rushed him back and they sent us to a&e. Discharged us close to midnight. Saying same thing.

We are now back home. In the day time he seems ok. It only flares up at night.

It's been 5 days. Can it really be a post viral thing?? It's panicking me tbh.

Thanks.

Thought I'd update everyone... So after 2.5 weeks of this strange fever in the evening with a rash and joint pain, he gets a fever that doesn't come down and a rash that spreads throughout his body. We were refered to the paed in hospital anyway after his blood tests came back with high inflammation markers (csr and erp) and a slightly low hb 10.4. His csr was 15 and erp was 35.

He was finally admitted to hospital. Took more bloods which we are awaiting results for but the esr and CRP came back even higher 35 and 50 now.

They think the rash that's not blanching is atypical HSP. Thankfully have ruled out juvenile rhumatoid arthritis and Lupus.

We return to the hospital for results of rarer virus tests on Wednesday.

Glad you're on your way to getting some answers, it sounds awful, poor wee soul.
