Chickenpox and contagiousness ?

Am sure there is other threads about this so apologies and this is probably a fairly standard / stupid question - but, if a child at dd's childminder has got chickenpox today and my 16mo old dd has been in contact with him for 2 days this week, is she likely to get it ?

More importantly I guess, my other question is I am due to meet up with 8 nct friends and their toddlers tomorrow (plus the host mother is pregnant) should I tell them / not go incase she is 'harbouring' it ? Wouldn't want to inflict it on others - though she's yet to get any signs of it so am being overly cautious (don't want to be deemed irresponsible!)
Thanks

If she had got it from other child, she won't be contagious herself till a couple of days before the spots come which will be around 2 weeks after exposure, so you should be fine tomorrow.
I think! :)

when was your lo in contact with the other child as they are contagious for 1-2 days before the spots appear and until they crust over i.e. he would have been contagious yesterday and maybe wednesday too. Your dd would then have an incubation period of 10-21 days before she would break out in spots with her only being contagious a couple of days beforehand too.

Chickenpox is most infectious from one to two days before the rash starts, until all the blisters have crusted over (usually five to six days after the start of the rash). i personally would not go mainly due to the pregnant lady, but would contact them all first and say lo has been with someone with chicken pox, one of my mindees got chicken pox when i was looking after him, noticed the spots so he was already contagious my kids didnt get it well not for a few years,,
