My darling dd 10months, is really struggling over the last six weeks with doing poos. She is having very large and solid poos despite having a healthy diet and being a bit of a fruit bat! She is in a lot of discomfort when going and its horrid to see her in pain Sad

Anyone have an experience with the same and any suggestions?

Yes, DS2 was like this around the same age.

I gave him the tiniest bit of choc laxative when it was really bad. I upped his dried fruit and puree fruit intake and he had lots of diluted 50/50 water and apple juice - I don't know whether that helped or he just grew out of it.

It is horrible to see them in pain like this - I remember crying about it too.

The thing is to get it sorted as she may start to avoid going through the fear of it and then you have a vicious cycle.

Do ask the HV and or Doctor for advice though.

Adding sweetcorn to DS's diet did the trick. When he was that age I'd give sweetcorn mixed with cottage cheese or with broccoli mash.
