How long does it take to pick up a cold from another person? DS has come down with one today. DSD was with us at the weekend and she had a bad cold, and is not very careful about covering her face when she coughs or sneezes. Could he have picked it up from her this quickly?

Think the cold is everywhere at the moment, I saw someone sneeze into their hand in Tesco and then push the shopping trolley around the other day! Bet the shopper who used that trolley next is feeling a tad under the weather now!

Possibly. Why does it matter though? He could equally have caught it at the library / park / tesco / anywhere...

Thanks for replies. It doesn't matter, just wanted to pinpoint where he got it from, but obviously it can be picked up anywhere! I really just wanted to know how long it takes to pick up.

Incubation period is generally 2 days before symptoms start.
