Do older dcs suffer with teething like toddlers?

My ds is 10. He's always been generally fit and well, no more that 2 days off per school year (heavy cold, vom bug etc). He has a balanced diet, kids' multivitamin, exercise every day and nearly 10 hrs sleep each night, but since xmas he has had virus after virus, shingles, veruccas, d&v, high temp, fever, cough, cold etc, literally back to back illnesses. It's starting to get on his nerves (and mine).

I realised today that this coincided with the loss of some baby back teeth, and the growing of some adult molars. I'm remembering the coughs, colds and temperatures of toddler teething and wondering if this could be the same sort of thing? Any experience, or advice on how to boost his immunity up a bit? Ta.
