Swollen testicle

Ds is full of cold but generally ok, but could have sworn his testicle was swollen when changed his nappy. Any ideas? This is a new one on me!

It could be a hydrocele?

I would double check and if if does seem swollen phone your OOH for advice. If it is a hydrocele it is harmless but when DS had one they wanted to check there was nothing doing any damage (hernia or twisted testicle I think they said they were checking for!)

Yes it could be a hydrocele. It may have been there for a while as they are not always noticeable. Ds had one. It is where a tube doesn't close properly when they are developing in the womb and then liquid drips down into the testicle making it appear swollen. They are harmless but may need to be drained. Ds had an operation under general anaethestic to have the tube closed. Very quick and easy. Probably worth getting it checked.
