4 year old with bleeding tongue

My dd is 4 and often when I brush her teeth her tongue bleeds. It's hard to describe, sort of like little pinpricks but about 4 or 5 of them. I don't brush her tongue but obviously the toothbrush touches her tongue, but not enough to make it bleed!

Any ideas what it could be?

Thrush?more prone if she has been on antibiotics or steroids.

Don't think it's toothpaste as she is using a different one to a few weeks ago but it is still happening.

Could be thrush, she's not on antibiotics or any other medication, haven't heard of bleeding with thrush though, is this common?
