Hi, my dd is 17 months and she sleeps a lot, she goes to bed at 7 gets up anytime between 7 and 9 and she will go back to bed for about 1 and a half or 2 hours in the morning and sometimes another hour and half in afternoon. Still sleeps through the night no probs. She falls over a lot too, mainly when tired I think. Us this normal?
Thanks

14 hours was normal for my 4 kids - all of them had 12-13 hour sleeps overnite (broken sometimes by a 6 am bottle ) and an afternoon nap of 1-1/2 hours. If she is teething her molars maybe her sleep is broken or disturbed overnite without fully waking her.
Is she an active child when she is awake? If not try to phase out the morning nap and see if she copes - stimulate her by going to the playground then give her a nap in the pm- sometimes a little bit of activity energises you.
HOWEVER If you have any concerns about her and notice any wobbles or episodes of vacantness - daydreaming or staring into space say in the middle of an activity she is engrossed in - you should talk to your health visitor as a precaution.

My dd is 18months. She sleeps 12 hours overnight and approximately 2 in the day, so not much less than your daughter.

Why not give your HV a call? How long has she been walking?

Been walking since 12 months. She is poorly at the mo and had 2 hours sleep this morning and 2 and a half this afternoon! However had d&v so can't really count this. Thanks for reassurance. She goes to nursery mons and tues and only sleeps for an hour while there so maybe she catches up the rest of the week! Bless her

DD is 20 months and is a monster sleeper - she does 14 (!!) hours at night on non-nursery days and a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon. She is very bright and active so I have no worries about development and am massively grateful to have such a good sleeper - just like her Daddy!

That's good to hear maketea, its not just my dd then. I have to say as long as there's nothing wrong with her I am very grateful too! She is super active and very happy x
