Spots all over arms, not chicken pox!

DS (3) has large red spots all over his arms. Also one on his face. The biggest are slightly smaller than a 5p piece, and they all have a tiny white head on them. I think they are uncomfortable as he is reluctant to let me look at them. I am sure it is not the pox, as he had that last year.

Could this be a reaction to the suncream he has had on all week, as it has been roasting all week? Or something I need to worry about?

All this hot weather and suncream use has given my 2 x 2 year olds a very spotty rash and No. 1 has nasty red chapped cheeks I'm using oilatum on the cheeks. I do think rashes are always worth a call to the GP (telephone, don't spread it!). But little ones get rashes for all sorts of reasons so try not to worry x

Ds1 has a staphylococcus spot infection at the moment that looks kind of like that. Red spot, grows a bit, develops tiny white head, head bursts, scabs, spot goes. He has antibiotic cream to put on the spots. Doc said it is bacteria that live on the skin anyway, only grown a bit out of control ...

Could it be that? (don't google it, some of the images are horrendous - ds1's spots just look like little pimples).
