Water infection or tummy bug?

Dd2 age 2.5 has had temp every evening this week. Not needed calpol. Has had bit of cold. Fine during day just tired and hot from 5 ish onwards. Last night she was really sick several times so very tired again today. Didn't keep plain bic down this am but has started to keep weak juice down and but if dry toast. But only wee'd once today and very concentrated. Fell asleep on dh with high temp. Woke as I put her to bed and had calpol.

Any advice? Is it unusual to have very high temp with what I thought was tummy bug? Or is this something else?

If its any help, my DD ( same age) has a temp with anything that her wee body tries to fight, even a 24 hr bug. If Calpol or Brufen bring it down, then it's a good sign as far as I can see.

Calpol not working at mo. just been and got more Inuprofen but she's asleep for the mo but still hot.

How high is her temp?

MrsMoosickle · 31/03/2012 20:25

Just thinking back, when my DD last was like his ( 3 weeks ago) she was dehydrated a bit ith a temp that ran over a few days and a few episodes of vomiting ( think the sickness was temp related)

Anyway I phoned nhs24 and got OOH appoint tht night, it was tonsilitis and we got antibiotics. Might be Roth the all, even f that's just reassurance for you. It's a long night when you feel so worried and anxious.

MrsMoosickle · 31/03/2012 20:25

Oops , might be worth the call. Damn predictive txt

eleanorsmum · 31/03/2012 20:32

Thanks. That's what I'm thinking. She sounded a bit throaty and sore when I gave her calpol at six. Still asleep at mo so will leave her till morn or in the night is temp still too high. She has had tonsillitis before but not sick with it. Wish there was a way to take her pain/fever awaySad

Hopefully a better night for you all tonight. My mum always says that's one less to catch later on![hmmm]

You'll feel a bit better after the 2nd opinion I'd guess anyway.
