Spotty botty problem

DS is 9 and has recently complained of an itchy bottom. Not his anus but his butt cheeks. He has been mature enough to let me take a look and his poor little bum cheeks are covered in little red spots - some with a nasty head on them.

He bathes everyday, has clean underwear every day and clean PJs 2 or 3 times a week. I'm treating it with witchhazel and then sudacreme, but before I go through the 40 redials to contact the GP tomorrow morning, does anyone have any advice ? Or experience of this particular 'condition'?

TIA

Can I ask why clean PJs only 2 or 3 times a week? I thnk clean ones every night is the norm and needed too! He could be sweating at night...and then putting those pants on again, might irritate the skin...not saying it's the ause of the spotty botty but might not help!

My 1st thoughts are Molluscum Contagiosum....which is a possibilty...but there are so many things really which is why a doctor is the best choice.

Clean PJs not every night as I suppose that's not what I do myself. But it may help to clear up the problem. He is a bit of a 'sweater' at night, so that could be aggrevating the issue.

I am now calculating how many extra washes I would need to do in order that all four of us have clean pjs every night...I'm already on 10 - 12 a week anyway!

Well it's getting warmer now....why not let him wear a t shirt only? Mine only wear vests atm! I do a hideous amount of washes daily...there are 4 of us and my DH sometimes gets changes THREE times a day due to cycling everywhere and also being a gym freak!

That includes blinking towels!
