Last week I accidently burn DSs head with some boiling water. I was draining pasta and didn't realise he was underneath me when I moved it across the kitchen and some water fell on his head. It didn't look that bad at the time so I just chucked a glass of water over it and kept a wet flannel on it for a while. The next day it looked red in two places about .5cms wide and 3 cms long. Today the skin there has started peeling. Is this cause for concern. Do I need to go to the doctors could it become infected? I'm a bit worried something is wrong as DS has been really tired all evening and I put him in his cot at 7.30 and he just lay there without crying, which is not like him at all. He was still just lying there when I checked on him 15 mins ago. Tonight was the night we were going to start sleep training but this seems a bit weird.

Go to the doctor. Ds (2.6) pulled a cup of tea onto himself (his arm) about three months ago. It was an a&e job, a week of visits to the nurse to change the dressing, and a big red mark still visible.

i agree a check up if he's still poorly tomorrow. However peeling is normal if there was a blister. Is there any sign of redness around it, does it look infected/ sticky, does the area feel warm or look swollen? If it was a week ago I dont see that it's related to the tiredness, unless it is infected + thats making him feverish. Im sure you would have noticed though. If its dry + clean + its just the dead skin coming off theres no need to worry- about that anyway!
Is he still just lying quietly or is he asleep now? lets hope hes just worn out.
