hi my boy is sick yet again. I know i had to expect this as he started nursery two months ago but we have had constant colds and coughs since and now he has a rash over his face, back and stomach and legs and a little behind his ear as well as what looks like two little blisters on his eyelid.
He is teething heavily with molars and he had a slight fever the other day but now it seems to have gone away but he still sweats at night and wakes up moaning.
Now the last couple of days he has stopped eating but drinks a little water.
Do you think he has chicken pox now? Should i go to the doctor? I adminster capol like it is going out of fashion and bongela but am starting to worry now....

What are the spots like? If he has chickenpox you need to keep him away from others including people at the GP surgery. If he needed seen you would have to warn them when you call.

I only give calpol / nurofen if theres a high fever or they are in obvious pain.

When did he gets the first spots? When my ds got pox they started as a couple of teeny tiny little pink pimples, then eventually turned to blisters, it wasnt until 3 days from the 1st pimple that he was covered. Dd on the other hand had loads of blisters straight away.

Ps it doesnt sound like hes drinking much - are you still getting plenty wet / dirty nappies?

Thank you for answering leftmysociallifeatthedoor. He had couple of spots but only small red ones last Friday and he also got a runny nose and his cough got worse, following by a fever of 38.7.He was feverish throughout the night and was sweating a lot, and kept being in pain throughout the night. On Saturday he was better and more himself, with no fever and he still had the few spots. He also had another terrible night on Saturday and was waking up with sweats and pain,so I kept giving him bonjela and calpol. This morning he woke up with the rash which worsened during the day and now it is all over the body but no blisters apart from the two on the upper eyelids. Today he had no fever but was irritable and tonight it took him a while to fall asleep, and he is having cold sweats again. He had wet nappies and one dirty one yesterday and today, but I guess the wet ones are not as often as normal.I will see how he is in the morning and take him to the doctor.
