My ds has had several colds and ear infections (all Viral) since starting nursery in sept i noticed his hearing was affected while he had the infections and for a while after but about acouple of months ago he got this monster virus as we all did which left him with enormous glands and tonsils for about 3 weeks but as it was viral we just had to wait for it to go .He's been ok for a few weeks after dosing him on vitamin medicine . he has a head cold now but not ill but i've noticed again his hearing is quite bad he seems to say 'what' alot im not sure if its just the cold or a afteraffect of all his infections . I was thinking of getting his hearing tested or should i wait to see if it improves. Im unsure where to go do i go to my gp or arrange it myself.
Thanks

If he keeps getting ear infrctions the GP will refer or you could ask. My DD kept getting 'viral' ear infection but I found that antibiotics cleared them up nicely.

GP or HV can refer, if they think a poor test result is due to a cold, they will retest a while later.

He may have glue ear, ask for a ENT referal if the GP thinks so. If it's just a temporary blip due to the cold though, it's probably not worth it, only if it's going to be on going.
