Hi

Ds is 21 months old and around thu morn he developed a high temp 38.8. Gave him calpol and then 4 hours later a second lot which brought it down to 37.0 and he was much brighter. He's still spiking temps and I'm having to alternate calpol and brufen to keep it down. Thermometer has gone missing too but he's obviously got temp the heat of him is unbelievable. He is also snoring a lot which he dosnt usually. He's had a runny nose and mild conjunctivitis for weeks. (drs won't treat) and a cough occasionally that dosnt seem to chesty. Is this just a strange virus going round? When should I seek hel?. He's drinking but not eating much.

Watching this with interest as my 17mth old DS has very similar symptoms. I've been wondering about his throat as he's been jamming his hands into his mouth and he's just finished cutting his canines so we were expecting a break from teething. Went to the GPs with him on Wed but there was no sign of infection so we've chalked it up to a virus. Hope it passes soon as both DH and I feel rotten now.

I would try and get him a gp appointment tomos my guess would be an ear or throat infection Sad hope he picks up soon.
