My 6 month old ds has a tiny bit of blood coming out of his nose

He's had a cold the past week, but was getting a lot better, only a bit of a cough now.

I am prone to nosebleeds myself when I have a cold, should I be worried? (I already am...)

I remember phoning the GP in a complete panic when DD1 first had this - I thought it must be something really serious.

But 12 years later she still gets nosebleeds every time she has a cold. We have some ointment she can stick up there now if it gets bad, which really helps.

If you're worried though, do give them a phone, just to settle your mind. I seem to remember them asking about the quantity and colour.

Thanks Tumbleweed, I called my mum who also told me the same as you. It really is a minute amount, it hasn't even travelled any further down than his nostril, but I'll keep an eye out in case he bleeds again, in which case I'll take him to the doctors.

As for your DD, I remember my nosebleeds where worse in my teens. I used to use a product called Epistaxol if I had a bad one, it is a bit like Vips nasal spray, but designed specifically to stop nosebleeds rather than clear your nostrils. Not sure if they sell it in the UK (this was in Spain), but maybe you can ask your pharmacist. Was quite useful, especially the time when I started to bleed mid exam.

Thanks again Thanks
