Vomiting in 7 year old

DS started vomiting earlier and is now throwng up green bile with bits in, he has been sick about 7 times. He has been sipping water intermittantly. His temp taken under his arm is 35.2. Is this a normal bug, or should I be worried?

SOunds silly but I've totally forgotten at what point I need to take further action.

HI sorry to hear your DS is unwell. It sounds like it could be norovirus as that does cause lots of vomiting - did it come on suddenly?

The sipping of water is good as it is more likely he will keep this down and just tiny bits will help with regards to dehydration - if dehydration looks likely then he will need to be seen by GP/hospital depending on whether in our out of surgery hours.

Do you think the temp is correct - 35.2 is rather low and if you are sure that the thermometer is working correctly I would be phoning now for some advice (like NHS direct) -this is presuming DS is alert and has no other serious symptoms such as rashes or breathing problems. If he does seem drowsy/any other symptoms that are more of a worry I would be going to A & E.

Hope he is better soon.

Angel cake How is your ds this morning ? My dd woke at 11.45 being very sick and has been sick 3 times not been sick since 3am as been asleep. These bugs come on so fast let's hope they go as quickly.

Hi everyone thanks for your advice. DS was sick another 3 times , but only tiny amounts. He has managed to sleep inbetween that. His temp has gone up to 37.5 now, he hasn't been sick now for 5 hours which is good.

Will keep an eye on him, he has aching muscles and pins and needles but no rash, sounds like a virus.

Hope your DD recovers quickly Happpydayyay.

Lack of sleep.
Thanks again for asking

Well glad your DD has a diagnosis and some penicillin - my DD had some penicillin about 6 months ago - I remember it being some orange really revolting stuff (much worse than amoxycillin!).

Hope she keeps improving quickly, and don't worry about the getting muddled, it's nice that you were thinking of others despite your obvious weariness :)
