Steroids and recurrent croup in DD2 21mo.

DD2 has had reccurent croup since she was 15weeks. Every 6-8 week it flares up and she has a dose of Dexamethazone and she seems fine - we have had 3 blue lights to A&E in this time period. Her last flare up was 4 weeks ago and she was bluelighted from the GP came home after 3 doses of Dex 6 hours apart. She never seemed to get rid of the wheeze, a week later she had another dose and Saturday she had another dose, yesterday the GP gave her prednisilone 25mg for 7 days to give it a final kick.

Here is my dilemma - the GP says there is no underlying issue and she will grow out of it and we need to treat as it happens. My instinct says there is something else going on and she needs to be checked over when she is not having a critical episode. Also isn't the pred dose incredibly high for a 10kg toddler?
