Can anyone help?? My DS had jaundiced for about 6 weeks post birth. He wasn't referred to hospital until around then. The jaundice has gone but after blood tests I was told that he has raised ALT levels. These have now been completed x 3 and I am told are around 104. Not sure what the upper normall is but following internet research I have found this to be anything between 25 to 56. I have been told just to have tests repeated in 4 weeks time. Good news its not getting worse but not good that ALT levels are not reducing. I was exposed to hand, foot and mouth just before delivering and wondered if this could be the cause? Paed thought ALT levels should have reduced by now if that was the case.
I am worried that all the investigations that should be done are being done and the possible cause. Paed seems run off his feet and not filling me with confidence.
