DS began vomiting at 5ish last night and continued until about 12am with a bit of a sleep in the middle. He then slept in our bed until 6am, and was restless but not sick. He vomited (water/fluid) at 6 and 7 and then has basically slept all morning either on me or in his cot. He vomited when he woke up at midday and his temp was up above 38 so I gave calpol. He's managed to keep that down so far but is now asleep again.

All this sleep is so out of character, is it normal when they're ill? I'm still breastfeeding but he hasn't been interested in that or water for a couple of hours. I guess I'm just wondering whether to bother the doc or not?

My brother and SIL had similar with their DS on Saturday. They called me for advice and I sent them to A & E. It was the right thing to do. He was dehydrated, and had increased heart rate. They rehydrated him and sent them home after a few hours. Yes, go to your doctor and if they are not of help, or he gets worse, go to A & E.

Thanks, he's just had some water and stole a bit of my pitta bread and is now asleep, so I'll see how he is when he wakes up.
